The Club

About Tramore AFC: Formed as Tramore AFC in 1952 we have developed as a club to a standard that has seen us as a team to follow. As we enter our 60th year of existence we have many achievments that we as a club and community are so proud of. Moving to our current home, Graun Park has to be one of the best decisions made by they club as this can be seen by the amount of facilities we now have on site. We have raffled off bikes, cars and houses (yes houses!) to raise money for this development and we also had a lotto running every 2 weeks. Todays fundraisers include winning 2 tickets for every Ireland home game at the new AVIVA stadium and our good firday soccerthon amongst others.

We have had many successes in our years of existence including winning the Waterford Premier League on two occasions in the last decade. Our ladies side of the club is rapidly increasing and we have competed in four different counties so has been the demand for teams at Tramore AFC. In 2010 we were crowned Munster Champions and the ladies have since built on this success.

Our new approach to coaching has seen us put a system in place that will see the club dedicate quality coaching time to all players from the ages of 3 right up to adulthood. Little Dribblers is a new session put on by our coaches and Transition year students of Tramore CBS, offering soccer in a FUN enviroment for kids aged 3-5 years. We have also dedicated ourselves to making sure that the coaches are also coached and numerous volunteers at the club have taking FAI coaching courses in recent years. We now have coaches at every level from UEFA A right down to Kickstart 1.

Approaching the 2011/12 season it will look like we will enter a record number of teams for the club; in excess of 25 teams. Our facilities at Tramore AFC include Two top class pitches, four dressing rooms, a gymnasium, an astro turf pitch, sand and grass training areas, office, kitchen, storage room and committee room. We also will have new dugouts on our main pitch for the coming season and also in the coming years plans to incorporate a small stand is in place. Exciting times ahead for Tramore AFC.

All of our proactive activity in Tramore AFC and the community had been rewarded on a national stage from the FAI when we were awarded AVIVA club of the year for 2011. This is something everyone at the club is extremely proud of and promise to not rest on our laurels and continue to keep developing on and off the pitch to make Graun Park and Tramore the number one venue for soccer in the country.
